An easy to grow native to Italy and Greece, with orange, red or pink dandelion-like flowers and narrow, lance-shaped leaves. Does best in a light, well-drained soil which is poor and dry. Grows quickly and is a good choice for areas of poor fertility. In soil that is well-drained a fall sowing may be done as well as the more frequent spring sowing. Effective as an edging and in rock gardens. It is not good for cutting since the blossoms close in the afternoon.
