Half-hardy Annual. Bears single pale violet flowers that open each night and emit a pervasive sweet scent. That trait is called vespartine. Stems and flowers may wilt during the day, but will revive at night. Watering should be done with a fine spray in the morning when the weather is cool or in the evening when the weather is warm. After your plants are established, water should only be administered to the roots and kept off the leaves when possible. This will help with pests and diseases. Light is necessary for seed germination.
