Hardy Perennial. Wavy, rich green leaves which are usually marked in white and lighter green are an appealing trait of this long-blooming hosta. Tall spikes of mauve flowers emerge in late spring and continue into early summer. Available in numerous cultivars which can make dramatic accents down a shady path. Likes a partially shaded to fully shaded spot with rich, moist soil. 'Albo-marginata' is one of the most popular cultivars of this species and is also known as 'Silver Rim'. The leaves of this cultivar are rimmed in cream while the leaf centers are green and gray-green.
