A refrigerator is one of the greatest electricity consumers in most homes. It can easily use more than $100 of electricity per year. One way to lower the operating costs and to keep your foods fresher is to make sure that the door closes quickly. This reduces heat gain into the refrigerator and also the exchange of air with the kitchen.
You should adjust the door to close as fast as possible without turning the eggs in the door into mini-missiles. This can easily be done by screwing the front leveling screws down. This tilts the refrigerator back slightly. The greater the tilt, the faster the door will close.
