If you have cracked window glass, it is very important to replace it. Even though you may not notice it, air can leak in through the crack, especially on windy days. Glass panes actually do flex under the force of the wind. Also, as the seasons change, so does the size of your window, especially wood windows. This can make the crack grow in length and the gap will open and close depending on the conditions.
Another reason to replace the glass is safety. A cracked pane of glass is weakened and can present a hazard to children. Just a slightly raised edge on the crack can cut a child's hand. It can also break from just a relatively light push.
